Melksham in Wiltshire

Described as the fifth largest town in Wiltshire, the town of Melksham size is around 20,000 people. The River Avon is located next to it. The name derives from the Olde English for milk and ham.
During the time of the Normandy invasion, the city is building. The nuns of Amesbury Melksham resigned in 1539 to King, who was in possession of the land of two hundred and fifty years. The land was given to Sir Thomas Seymour three years later.

The Masons came to Melksham in 1817. The first reunion was in the King’s Arms submit. The sites were not happy with their new residents and members of the Masons had to move to a nearby town. The city has managed to keep unwanted Freemasons seventy years, but another was built and the Masons returned.
A group of men, respected in the area formed the Melksham Spa Company. These men have done a good job in the textile sector and wanted to stop the decline in business. During an excavation of two underground sources of coal were discovered and the men decided to build jointly a spa. The decision was the result of six large, three-level houses that form the crescent-shaped. This resort, never became as popular as expected.
Several industries Melksham. Rubber and train braking systems are still in the city. The neighborhood where you live is close to the popular sold in Bath, Bristol and Trowbridge. The beautiful village of Lacock is nearby, increasing the attractiveness of Melksham. In recent years, improvements to the city has increased the awareness of the city and its people.
Melksham community is known for its unity and love for you. To help celebrate its heritage, the city is a part of the Park. Residents and tourists can enjoy the attractions and a variety of activities.
